Hello Fearless Friends, have you ever been side tracked with everyday life? To put it plainly..life just gets in the way of your plan? So many things coming at us at once it’s hard to keep our focus sometimes. Why is it so hard to stay on task? Maybe because we are living life in the fast lane which leads to spreading ourselves to thin. There are days when everyone we meet wants a piece of time and energy.
Do you have a dream or vision for your life, you know it with all of your heart and it is so overwhelmingly powerful and hard to contain? In order for that dream and vision to come to fruition we have to focus with a “laser vision” tactic. This means keeping our eyes focused straight ahead, not looking to the left or to the right being distracted by any obstacles that materialize.
I heard a story about a group of boys who were trying to ride their bikes across this thin piece of wood plank which was slightly wider than their bicycle tires. They were taking bets amongst themselves on who could get across without losing their balance and falling off of it. Time and time again one boy took the challenge while barely making it half way before losing their balance and falling off the plank. A new kid in the group wanted to try it and he looked like the least likeliest to make it. The other boys laughed at him thinking if they couldn’t make it there was no way he could. The new challenger placed his bike on the wood plank and took off immediately not slowing down or hesitating at all and made it all the way across without incident. The boys were totally amazed and couldn’t wait to ask him how he made it across? He replied it was easy, he kept his focus on the end of the wood plank, not looking from side to side to see where he was at..He was laser focused..looking straight ahead to the end prize.
It’s the same for us for our dreams and visions. Keep your vision laser focused and on the dream. Don’t stop to listen to the naysayers, don’t second guess yourself on your abilities, don’t focus on what you don’t have and on anything that can sway you away from your goals. Keep your eyes set forward.
We all have crashed at one time or another and the key is to get back up and take command of your life’s dream – it was given to you for a reason and it’s yours to possess. Do the work that’s needed, make the sacrifices necessary and take possession.
Meet Joe and Josephine Average- they decided to live the EASY life: Here is what they did and didn’t do:
*doesn’t push past limitations quits easily..they say it’s “to hard.”
*The will power to fight the uphill battle for their dreams isn’t there- again it’s too hard.
*taught that life is about making it through the day. Didn’t step out to find out.
*It’s hard to change their thinking to think outside the box.
*Self-development sits on a back burner.
*Work 40 hours a week thinking that is enough while not willing to sacrifice to work a 60 hour a week for a short time in order to reap the rewards of being their own boss.
*Needs to be managed. Won’t get the training needed and practice without supervision.
“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.” ― Mark Twain
Keep your eye on the prize – whatever the prize is to you – when you feel like quitting think about why you started. The important take away is to keep moving and making important strides for the change you desire. Don’t get me wrong, the journey will not be easy and life will happen but you will arrive.
The breakthrough will come when the sacrifices are made and that makes the prize to be so much sweeter. Don’t give up on yourself when you show up for your dreams and the changes you want to make for yourself the dreams and changes tend to show up for you.
