Walmart Savings Catcher

Posted on May 2, 2016

Who doesn’t like to save money, right?  I stumbled upon a way to get money back on purchases I make when I shop at Walmart. Have you heard of their Savings Catcher program? While doing a little shopping,  I struck up a conversation with a lady who had been using the Savings Catcher for a while and she told me all about it. It’s so simple to do, I love it!

First thing to do is to create an account with Walmart (providing you don’t already have one). Once your account is created you can start using the Savings Catcher program. You will enter the receipt number or TC number that is found at the bottom of the receipt.

This can be done one of two ways. The first way is by using  your home computer. Go to the savings catcher website locate here Savings Catcher Web Login. Enter your email address and the password you used to signed up with. The next page is where you enter the TC number. This page will show the reward dollars earned and also all of the receipts that have been entered

The second way and probably the quickest is to use the Walmart app. This is so convenient and easy to use. Same as before, you must create an account first. Simply open the app, choose the savings catcher option as shown below. It will prompt you to scan the bar code located at the bottom of the receipt. This is totally the best option for speed and convenience. At the bottom it will show reward dollars saved and also receipts scanned.  Here is a short video showing how to use the Savings Catcher in the App: Walmart App

Here’s how is works: The Savings Catcher will begin to search the local stores in your area to see if there is a better deal to be had. It will match the price of any local competitor and that’s where your savings begin. It normally takes 24-48 hours to search out the stores to comparison shop. Walmart states it will take up to 72 hours, but it’s never taken that long for me to get notified. If there are lower prices it will add it to your rewards account. You will be notified by email if a lower price had been found or not. Most of the time, I have some kind of a reward coming back to me.

I did this for 10 months last year, so at Christmas time I decided to cash in my rewards and my total saved was $127 over those months. It came in handy and was a great bonus at the holidays.  When you go to cash in your rewards you will be given an gift card emailed to you. Print it off and take it to the store when you are ready to use it.

Here some additional details:

Once your card reaches $599 in savings Walmart will want you to cash out and get your gift card. Once you cash out, the savings begin again. A shopper can submit up to 7 receipts in a week. This only applies to in store shopping, not shopping online. Also, there is a 7 day limit to enter your TC number. A couple of times I had forgot to enter my receipt and a few weeks went by.  So I was unable to use the receipt and lost out on any potential savings, so keep that in the back of your mind.

This is great for those who shop a lot or like me I share this with my mom, so I am entering her receipts as well as my own. At the end of the year we split the rewards and it works out nicely.

I love the savings catcher app! I use it all the time and use the savings to fund splurge items for myself or small toys for my kids as a surprise 🙂
